EV charger circuits
Dedicated EV charger circuits
An EV charger needs its own circuit, sized to the charger and protected correctly. We check what your switchboard and supply can carry, then install the circuit ready for your charger.

What we do
Work we take care of
Supply and switchboard check
Confirming the existing main supply, board capacity and spare ways before anything is quoted.
Dedicated circuit installation
A circuit run from the board to the charger position, sized to the charger's rated load.
Protection and isolation
RCD protection to the type the charger requires, plus a clearly labelled isolation point.
Charger connection
Terminating and energising the charger where the equipment supplier does not do this.
Garage and carport wiring
Cable routes through garages, carports and external walls kept neat and protected.
Body corporate car parks
Metering and circuit arrangements for charging in shared car parks, quoted for committee approval.
What we check before quoting
Most EV chargers draw a sustained load for hours at a time, so the circuit has to be treated differently to a general power circuit. The switchboard, main supply and cable route all affect what is possible and what it costs.
We look at the property first, confirm what the charger's installation instructions require, and put the scope in writing before any work starts. If load management is needed to keep the supply within its limits, we will explain that up front.
- Charger make, model and rated current confirmed first
- Board capacity, spare ways and main supply checked
- Correct RCD type and dedicated protection installed
- Isolation point and circuit labelling completed
- Certificate of Testing and Compliance supplied
